The Dysart Arms

Petersham

Smoking Policy

Smoking is now illegal in any part of all public buildings, including pubs and restaurants.

We ask for your support and help. Not only is it an offence for someone to smoke in The Dysart Arms, but if we fail to prevent a person from smoking we and our team are liable for a fine of up to £2500 and our license will be at risk on each occasion.

Because meals are served in our garden we have non-smoking and smoking areas within the garden. The tables are clearly marked. There are therefore tables and seating for those who wish to smoke in the garden when the sun allows, whether for a drink or a meal. If there are only non-smoking tables available please ask a member of staff if one can be used for smoking. Our parasols are designed to provide shade but they also provide some protection from light showers.

Customers are asked only to smoke in the smoking area of the garden or in the rear of the car park and to help us keep the grounds tidy and attractive by using the ashtrays and bins we have provided in the smoking areas. Please do not throw your cigarettes on the ground or smoke outside the main entrance gates and doors.

The same laws apply to our private dining rooms. Smoking is also no longer allowed on the private balcony overlooking Richmond Park. Guests in the private dining rooms are asked to smoke in the smoking area in the garden or the rear of the car park.

Jonathan Woollard as General Manager is the member of our team appointed to be responsible for the management of the law and our smoking policy in The Dysart Arms, as well as for your comfort and service. Please ask him if you have any questions.

We are carrying out landscaping work to the garden and car park over the Winter to make them more attractive. After the Summer season we will review the need to provide an open but weather covered area for smokers as part of these works and welcome your comments to Jonathan at enquiries@thedysartarms.co.uk or call him on 020 8940 8005.

Thank you for your help.
