Janiene Bayliss is co-owner of Te Mara Estate in Central Otago. Her background is in business consultancy majoring in branding and strategy and she has worked in the Advertising industry as a strategic planner in London for the past 10 years. She has been involved in the positioning of wine brands in various parts of the world but none of this prepared her for the excitement and satisfaction of developing her own Wine brand

Janiene is a 4th generation Kiwi and it was Queenstown in Central Otago that her ancestors chose to emigrate to from the old world. Having grown up in a horticulture environment and in one of the most beautiful regions of the world she is committed to bringing to consumers the very best hand crafted wine that can be produced from this special location.

Janiene’s first Pinot Noir was awarded a Decanter Silver Medal and all of the wines from Te mara have gone on to wine major international medals for each vintage. The Pinot Gris has 89 Robert Parker points and a gold medal from the Asian wine style awards.
